The benefits of a good company logo for small business

Why would a small business need a logo? What does it really do? Why should we invest in a logo? These are just some of the questions that as a small business graphic designer have been raised in regards to designing a logo.

Speaking as Sydney's small business graphic designers, to be perfectly blunt, there is not just one good reason for having a good logo, there are a multitude of reasons. First of all, lets look at what a logo should be. At a glance a logo should tell you a number of things about a company, like who they are, what they do and what sort of company they are. A good logo should add credibility and professionalism to the company while visibly portraying their ethics and values.

A well designed logo should be a valuable asset to any company. It tells a lot about the company and can be a very effective marketing tool, whether it is a small business graphic design coming out of Sydney or the rest of the world.

With all the above said what does it mean? Well very simply a good logo will help the customer see and understand who you are and what you are about. It creates a professionalism about your company and helps you create and identity for your company. It helps people find you and gives customers a visual link to your company.

As the world we live in evolves, people inevitably turn to the most common form of communication to find who and what they are looking for. The days of the telephone directory are gone and we now live in the time of the World Wide Web.  A company that appears professional and credible on the Web has a far better chance of attracting customers than a company that looks shady, and looking professional all starts with a good logo that works for your company.
