I wanted to touch on a topic that I went briefly over a few months ago. I wrote an article about SEO. I went through the basics of SEO and what SEO was and could do for your website. SEO is your key to opening the gate to Google rankings.

Over the past few months I have heard the same question over and over again, why isn’t my website working fro me? Why am I not getting on the top page on Google? Almost every time I look at their website I see the same thing. They have no keywords working for their site.

There are different forms of Keywords, probably the best known is Google Add Words. Google Ad Word campaigns can be very effective, but you need to be very specific with what you target. Put in a generic term and you will see your money disappear faster than you would believe. If you really want to do a Google Add Word campaign, get help. Ask an expert and you will save a small fortune by fine tuning your exact phrases to meet what people are searching for your industry.

I am more concerned with keywords throughout your site though. Tags and Keywords are one of the best ways of getting your site up the ladder on the natural search (where everything else ranks, other than Add Words). Keywords appear throughout your site, or at least they should. Keywords are what Google references to decide whether your website is relevant to a certain searched topic.

If you want to help your website climb the natural ladder you really need to get your keywords working. You should select phrases that exactly match what your company does. Keywords appear in your web page title. They also should be reinforced in page title, headings and the cop of the site. Get your web designer to help you with this, or get some help from a specialist in SEO like mini design.

If your keywords are not working, then your are not giving your website the best chance of getting seen.
