Branding creates awareness. We are living in a world spoilt with heaps and heaps of choices. Just simply “google” up any product, you will see endless amount of products and retailers selling it. As consumers are more price sensitive and thanks to the transparency of internet, comparison of pricings online is as easy as a piece of cake. For example, shopbot.com.au, a local website for Australians to compare prices over tons of products. However, when the prices of a certain product, which one would you pick? Now, other factors such as quality and branding will come into the picture. Especially for small businesses, what sets you apart could most probably be your quality, customer service and product knowledge etc.

In the case of small businesses, what you want to do is that be existent in your customer’s mind. You want your customers to think about you when they want to buy and when they look at a list of brand name with your competitors, you want them to associate you with positive factors and pick up over the others.

But remember, branding is a reinforcement for your marketing strategies, not a substitute. In a nutshell, branding is a powerful tool that creates customer loyalty and stimulates repeat purchases.
