Small business graphic designer in Sydney: branding can be affordable for small businesses

The word “branding” sounds expensive, but it can be done at a cost efficiency manner if you are not looking at branding at a nationwide broadcasting and printing level. Here are two tips to start branding your small business:

Know what your brand stands for.

What is the one thing you want your customers to think of your company? Just start with one or two thing. For example, if you want your customers to associate you with speed, do you have a 10-minute speedy lunch, or 3 hours same day delivery in Sydney, etc.? It is not easy to just think of one thing, therefore, schedule a brainstorming session with your team to discuss about it. If you are willing to spend a little more time and effort, conduct a customer survey, ask your customers what they value most from you. For example, ask your new customers why did they pick you over the rest and ask your existing customers what kept them with you.

Review your marketing materials.

After you know that one or two thing, review all your marketing materials from flyers, website to social media. Do they send the idea of “that one thing” across to your customers? Instead of sending mixed message such as emphasising that your products on are the cheapest on your brochures and emphasising your products are of high quality on your website, must sure everything is parallel. The use of abbreviations and jargons are very important too. Internally, your company will definitely understand them but don’t assume your customers would. The key is to make sure everything strengthens what you want your customers to think about your business.
